Hypnotism FAQ
Misinformation abounds about hypnosis. This Hypnotism FAQ will answer the most commonly asked
questions about hypnotism and hypnosis.
This Hypnotism FAQ is provided to you by Master Hypnotist
A.J. LaHaye.
Hypnotism FAQ 1: Who cannot be hypnotized?
A: With the exception of three types of people everyone can be
hypnotized. The first type is a
person who is drunk. A couple of social
drinks is no problem but a person who is plastered cannot pay attention long
enough to experience hypnosis. The second
kind is a person with an IQ clinically below 70.
This type of person has a difficult time paying attention long enough to experience
hypnosis. The third type of person
who cannot be hypnotized is the smart guy, someone who wants to prove that he or
she cannot be hypnotized. With this type of attitude the possibility is
extremely remote.
If
you do not fit into any of these categories you may get the rare opportunity to
come onstage at the show and experience hypnosis for yourself.
Hypnotism FAQ 2: What is hypnosis like?
A: When you experience hypnosis you feel like you do during
the moments just before falling asleep, when you are thinking and aware
yet
not fully conscious. One does not black-out during hypnosis and
you are somewhat
aware of what's going on around you at all times. A hypnotized person
will feel
more relaxed than ever before, awakening naturally, fully refreshed and
revitalized, just as they do after sleeping.
In fact, one hour of hypnosis feels like 4 hours of natural
sleep.
Hypnotism FAQ 3: Can I be made to do anything against my will while under
hypnosis,
something of an immoral or sexual nature perhaps?
A:
No, one cannot be made to do anything that is against their moral or ethical
beliefs.
Hypnotism FAQ 4: Is hypnosis safe?
A: Yes. Hypnosis itself is 100% safe. There is no danger of going into hypnosis and never coming out. See
Safety and Hypnosis
Hypnotism FAQ 5: What are the side effects of hypnosis?
A: Hypnosis has no side effects with the possible exception that one hour of
hypnosis tends to feel like 4 hours of natural sleep. A person comes out of
it feeling refreshed and relaxed.
Hypnotism FAQ 6: Is hypnosis evil?
A: Absolutely not! Hypnosis is inline with the doctrine of all
major religions. See Myths about Hypnosis.
