Answers to Common Questions AboutThe A.J. LaHaye Comedy Hypnosis ShowQ. Is a hypnosis show really that funny? A. Yes it really is! It is human nature that makes us laugh when we see someone doing something seemingly involuntarily. The same natural tendency to laugh at things such as seeing someone trip or sneeze or hearing someone laugh funny, is exactly the thing that makes this hypnosis show so funny. People can't help but let out a non-stop, side-splitting, rolling in the aisles, laugh! The volunteers are just being the very different, unique and wonderful people they are, all brought out by the hypnotic skills of Comedy Hypnotist A.J. LaHaye. People are soooo funny! Q. How long does a hypnosis show last? A. For a typical hypnosis show you can count on 75 minutes. However, it can be as long as 90 or as short as 45 minutes depending on your needs. Q. Do parents approve? A. Absolutely. Hypnosis has been scientifically proven safe, repeatedly. It is approved by the American Medical Association and the Catholic Church. Q: After the hypnosis show will they remember what they did? A: Most likely, yes. They just won't care! A person will usually only forget if the hypnotist gives a specific suggestion for amnesia during the hypnosis show. Sometimes, however, certain people will forget simply because they believe they will. Even then they will probably remember in a few weeks. Q. Do we have to pre-arrange volunteers for Mr. LaHaye's Hypnosis Show? A. Absolutely NOT. Pre-arranged volunteers make it look and feel set-up. Mr. LaHaye always gets his own volunteers right from the audience. Spontaneity is one of the ingredients that make a hypnosis show fun and interesting. Q: How does Mr. LaHaye choose his stage subjects? A: He doesn't. They choose him. After a brief explanation of what to expect and a quick hypnotic test he opens the stage to volunteers. Nobody can be forced into hypnosis so everyone on stage must volunteer. Q. Can the hypnosis show be done in my facility? A. On a stage with a seat for all is ideal. The hypnosis show is best seen on a stage or elevated platform such as in a school auditorium or assembly hall. A gymnasium is suitable as long as there is room for the stage or staging area and seating. A hotel ballroom is perfect. Risers on which to do the show in a gym or ballroom would be helpful. The show can be done on the floor and the audience can sit on the floor too though a stage would be optimal. Q. How big a stage do I need? A. A stage or area of 16' by 20' is usually ideal. Q. How many people are needed for hypnosis show? A. An audience of at least 50 is nice to insure there are enough people to volunteer though it's been done for as little as 27 people. There is virtually no maximum as long as everyone can see. Q. Should I keep the hypnosis show a secret and let it be a surprise to my guests? A. Please don't. Absolutely not. Announcing the hypnosis show early creates a buzz and builds excitement. It's like how packing and planning for a trip is part of the fun of a vacation. Q. Do I need to supply a sound system? A. Yes. An adequate sound system is mandatory. A 100 watt or larger amplifier with at least two inputs and a minimum of 2 speakers is ideal. More is always better. Mr. LaHaye provides his own wireless microphone and music player. If you do not have an adequate sound system one can be provided at a minimal cost. Q. Can you hypnotize my boss to.....? A. Yes, if they volunteer. One cannot be forced into hypnosis. (But think of the possibilities.) Q. Will anyone in the hypnosis show be or feel embarrassed? A. No. At least not forever! Seriously, all suggestions are designed to bring out the best in people, not to embarrass them. Mr. LaHaye is very sensitive to people's feelings throughout the show. The hypnosis show is designed for the most discriminating and sensitive corporate or school audiences. The dignity of both his subjects on stage and his audience are always protected. Q. Is the hypnosis show safe? A. Yes. Hypnosis itself is scientifically proven 100% safe. A.J. LaHaye also screens his volunteers for injuries, recent surgeries, certain medications and other criteria to insure everyone's safety. Mr. LaHaye taught safety to children in schools and is very conscientious of the physical dangers of being on stage. He protects the safety of both those on stage and the audience too.
